Mission Statement:
The Office of Laboratory Safety (OLS) is committed to providing a safe and healthful work environment within George Mason University laboratories. OLS supports teaching, learning, and research activities at the university by:
- Providing the expertise and assistance needed to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Working with personnel to resolve safety and compliance concerns as they arise
- Providing education through training and consultation
- Assisting in the development and implementation of emergency response procedures for university laboratories
- Promoting ethical and responsible laboratory behavior.
OLS strives to provide excellent customer service and encourages an open exchange of ideas and suggestions for improving laboratory safety and care for the environment.
